At ninety-two, Leon Davis spends far more time looking forward than looking back.

As a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), he's concerned about helping future generations prepare for their careers.

That's why he has contributed funds to three charitable gift annuities through the University of Oregon Foundation.

"It feels good to receive interest payments knowing that the UO benefits in return," he says. "I decided to support programs at the University of Oregon because that is where two of my grandsons went to college."

Two of the annuities will support programs in their majors (music and computer science). The third funds an endowment for scholarships in preparatory engineering studies.

Davis says he's gratified to know that recipients of his scholarship will benefit from UO programs that are advancing the engineering of nanoscale products and technologies.
