Olympian Devon Allen pursues his academic goals with the same intensity that he brings to athletics competitions.
“To me, being a Duck means trying to be excellent at everything I do,” says Devon, a business major from Arizona.
The champion hurdler and outstanding wide receiver doesn’t take his opportunities for granted.
“The University of Oregon was my dream from the beginning, but without a full-ride scholarship I would probably have gone to community college or just started working right out of high school,” he says.
Instead, Allen is discovering that he loves sports marketing, storytelling, and product design. If time weren’t a factor, he says he’d want to major in journalism and art in addition to business.
“I am so grateful for all the ways donors make the UO great in the classroom and on the field,” Devon says. “Being at the UO is awesome.”
