1960

Ella Fitzgerald’s MacArthur Court concert draws one the largest crowds that year.

1970

The Autzen Footbridge is built, ushering in the tradition of walking to football games from campus. (In 2009, UO renamed it the Frohnmayer Footbridge in honor of former UO president Dave Frohnmayer and his wife Lynn.)

1980

Dave Frohnmayer is elected attorney general. Fourteen years later, he becomes the first Oregonian to serve as UO’s president.
