Play it Forward
After losing her mother at 15, Shelley Briggs overcame financial difficulties and other obstacles—distinguishing herself in both academics and athletics. She would go on to attend the UO, in part with the support of scholarships like the ones she supports today. A member of the UO’s Legacy Circle, Briggs encourages others to join the Go Do Anything campaign and help the UO celebrate the 50th anniversary of Title IX.

Balancing Act
For Lillian Stump, the biggest challenge of being a student-athlete is balancing school, lacrosse, and friends. Somehow she finds time for all three—and much more, including an internship with the UO Sport and Wellness Initiative and media planning for UO women’s basketball—all while working on a master’s degree in advertising and brand responsibility.

We are embarking on a first-of-its kind undertaking for a US university, creating a new model of care for children’s behavioral and mental health.

For Summit Scholar and triple jump competitor Lexi Ellis, BS ’21 (psychology) her academic pursuits are as important as the pursuit of Olympic gold. She credits her Summit Scholarship with providing a foundation that allows her to focus on her academic pursuits while competing in a sport she loves.
